Old tool embellishments

Well here it is. My last of the Gibbs challenges. I am not sure if Im happy to be finished or sad that this swap is coming to a close. Either way it has been loads of fun!!

The challenge ' Gibbers do it old tool style '. This offered the best opportunity for me to pull out the old faithful scrapbooking items. Stickers, ribbon and my trusty ol' Sizzix. I still love to use my sizzix dies and thus for this challenge I thought I would make my partner some embelished items that could be used for tags, cards or even to frame if she wanted one more item for the walls in her soon to come scrappin' space.
Sizzix was used for all the bases of each item and also for the 'house and tree'. I love that one!!! I used a sizzix embossing folder for the single holiday item and the remining embellishments I pulled from my stash of ever mounting stickers. Added a bit of ribbon and some bling and taaa - da .... perfect.

Now back to create a few of these goodies for myself ;)

Bloom

Not sure how my blogger friends hold out on posting. Once I have the pictures Im so eager to share with you.

Yep, you guessed it, yet another Gibbs project.
This challenge ' The flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today '.
For this challenge I knew I wanted to create some flowers. I used SU sizzlets dies and some paper that I belive my partner Andera is fond of. Then I found these little paper mache flower pots to fill and I could not resist ! So was not long and I had them painted and spritzed with SU Glimmer mist to give the aged look. Each pot will be filled with flowers or stamps associated with the theme and wrapped in a cottage style fabric and tucked inside the 'bloom' flower box.
This project was fun and Im excited to get it into my new friends hands.
If your interested in the SU dies or glimmer mists.. THAT I fully recommend you can use the following link to order http://tammywhite.stampinup.net

Holiday Block Head

So its June and I have made my first Christmas item :).
I so love the holidays and in creating for my Gibbs challenge, " your such a block head charlie brown " I thought I share a bit of the holidays with my partner.
This was intended to be a ornament for the tree but ended up too large so, i added wooden beads for feet and it became a table top decoration celebrating the JOY of her children.

A few of My fello's :)

Here are a few dolls done in the fall of 09. The Fireman well he was the reason i purchased the EDPD cart to begin with. My husband is a fireman and I love him dearly. The scarecrow, well he was the beginning and the reason I learned to love making these little peeps.
I could use some practice on taking pictures in good light, however, if you click on the photos you can see the details a bit better. Hope they inspire you !

Learning the love of Copic's

Everyone that has a love of paper arts is all to familiar with the Cricut machine. In my discovery of this great toy I also found the Cricut message board. There so many gather to share their creations with others. Here we draw inspiration and share the appreciation of the craft. I never dreamed I would be fortunate enough to gain friendships in the process. While participating in swaps on the MB in 09 I developed a friendship with a very talented lady named Gwynne. I am so grateful to know her and have her in my cyber life :) for she lives many miles away from my Georgia small town.

I told her my sweet husband purchased my first set of copics for Valentines day this year and I was all to excited to discover what the Copic rage was all about. Not being much of a stamper, Gwynne happily created and shared some of her favorite images with me. In coloring I have learned that'quality' paper matters and with G's help I have discovered the love of copics!

Below is one of the few images that Gwynne sent me. These strawberries are oh so adorable and this has become one image that I simply can not part with. It now has a permant place in my scrap room. Thank you G !! Hope I did you proud.
